We recommend that travelers use either Kintetsu or JR when using the train within Mie Prefecture. The methods for buying tickets and passing through the wickets are generally the same.
1.Buying a ticket
There are maps of the routes shown on the upper part of the wall of the ticket sales area. There are numbers for each station on the map, such as 480 or 980. Those numbers show the fare required from the station where you are located to the station shown on the map. Buy a ticket for your destination from a clerk at the counter or from a ticket machine.

2.Passing through the wicket
After buying a ticket, insert it into the automated wicket. Take the returned ticket and proceed to the platform. Please note that when you buy a ticket from a clerk at the counter, only those tickets with a black backing can be used in the automated wickets. At those stations without automated wickets, have your ticket stamped by a station employee. When JR and Kintetsu stations are in the same location, (Kuwana, Tsu, Matsuzaka, Iseshi, Toba,), you can enter or exit the platform using any wicket. Please note that the platforms are in different locations.

3.Going to the platform and boarding a train
Check the departure board, proceed to the platform, and board the train. After arriving at the station of your destination, insert the ticket into the wicket and pass through the station. If there are no automated wickets, give your ticket to a station employee.
